Uh..., this isn't about music, per se, but it's something this community will totally appreciate.

I got into electronic music composition by chance, when my then girl-friend, got a korg digital recorder and a kaoss pad. Total score. Curiously, I had just watched 'American Movie', starring Mark 'sniff more glue dude' Borschard + Mike ' no more for me thanx I'm trying to puke in my shoe' Shanck. Add a dub sack and we're talking the perfect storm here. I learned the equipment over the next four days while trying to create a sonic experience that would convey to the listener what it might be like to sniff lots of glue. Not having much experience (actually none) with sniffing glue, it resulted in a kinda/sorta stoner opus instead. But the movie is totally inspirational and a true testament to the power of a persistant vision. It's important to follow up the viewing with a google search to discover by exactly how much Mark exceeded his expectations.

Oh. Another good flick for this kinda shit, is 'In the Realms of the Unreal'. It reinforces the art for arts sake aspect of the creative urge. Mix with pasta and Enjoy!
